SCAR attendance rises 18%

The Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) reported that attendance rose 18% at the 2005 edition of its annual meeting, held in Orlando, FL.

The Great Falls, VA, society reported that total attendance was 2,975, with the number of professional attendees up 6% and the number of exhibiting companies growing 5% compared with the 2004 show. Some 139 companies exhibited at the meeting.

One of the show's hot topics was PACS administrator certification, and the society said it has taken the first steps in creating a certification program to set the minimum standards and criteria for the profession. The program will be based on the National Organization for Competency Assurance (NOCA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards, according to the agency.
