The editor of Radiology, Dr. Herbert Kressel, plans to step down next year, and the medical imaging specialty's flagship journal has begun to search for a replacement.
In a note on Radiology's website, Dr. Vijay Rao, chairman of the RSNA's board of directors, lauded Kressel for taking the helm of the journal in 2007 from Dr. Anthony Proto, and guiding it through a number of online initiatives. Rao noted that Kressel is only the seventh editor of Radiology since its founding.
Among his accomplishments, the journal's impact factor reached its highest level in 2014, and Kressel also shepherded the journal through its two-year centennial celebrations, which just recently concluded.
Kressel will finish his tenure as Radiology's editor at the end of 2017, and the RSNA will appoint a new editor to begin in 2018. More information is available by clicking here.
