Dr. Bruce Hillman is stepping down as editor in chief of the Journal of the American College of Radiology. He was the founding editor in chief of the publication, which was launched in 2004.
The American College of Radiology (ACR), the publisher of JACR, said it has launched a search for a replacement for Hillman and is accepting applications through December 31. The new editor will serve a five-year term beginning in January 2019, and there will be a six-month transition period starting in the summer of 2018.
The new editor in chief will manage the peer review of all articles submitted to JACR, will oversee its editorial board, and will set the publication's editorial vision to foster growth in quality submissions and readership, the ACR announced. The new editor will also endeavor to minimize time to publication and apply policies to ensure quality in the journal's editorial process.
