The American College of Radiology (ACR) has released the first examples of its appropriateness criteria patient summaries, which the organization is developing to help patients better understand which imaging tests may be best for their condition -- or why they may not need an imaging exam at all.
These first summary examples, published online January 10 in the Journal of the American College of Radiology, are fewer than 250 words and written in language easily understood by people without medical experience or training, according to the ACR.
