The Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) will accept vascular sonography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for vascular lab directors, the ARRT said Thursday.
ARRT’s Executive Director Jerry B. Reid, Ph.D. said the Columbia, MD-based ICAVL's decision reinforces the value of the ARRT's certification, which is granted to those who possess extensive clinical experience and pass a rigorous test of their knowledge in vascular sonography.
ICAVL’s Essentials and Standards document defines the minimal requirements for vascular laboratories to provide high quality patient care, the ARRT said.
