GE Medical Systems Lunar has added information on osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases to GE’s women’s health Web site, www.herSource.com. The new osteoporosis section includes information on prevention and detection, living with the disease, treatment options, and descriptions of how factors such as smoking, pregnancy, or ethnicity may affect bone health.
In addition, site visitors will find an online glossary of osteoporosis terms, online education courses for bone densitometry professionals, and a database listing of dozens of international and national osteoporosis organizations. Madison, WI-based GE Medical Systems Lunar received the new content from organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, according to women's health general manager Terri Bresenham.
