The Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT) has joined the Alliance for Quality Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, an alliance of 16 healthcare groups working to push a technologist credentialing bill through the U.S. Congress.
The JRC-CVT's move adds momentum to the alliance's effort to pass the Consumer Assurance of Radiologic Excellence (CARE) bill, which was introduced in Congress on March 13. The legislation would establish education and credentialing standards for personnel who plan and deliver radiologic and radiation therapy exams. All types of medical imaging procedures would be covered except for diagnostic ultrasound.
