Radiation therapist Eric Corona-LoMonaco has been awarded the $3,000 Siemens Scholar award for the second year in a row. The prize will go directly to St. Joseph’s College in Standish, ME, where he is working on a bachelor’s degree.
Developed by Siemens Medical Systems and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), the three-year-old scholarship program is designed to assist students in obtaining a higher degree in radiation therapy or health sciences. Judging is based on an essay and contributions to the RT field.
Corona-LoMonaco supervises the radiology oncology department at the Monterey Peninsula Cancer Center in California. He will continue his studies long distance in healthcare administration.
The award will be presented at the ASRT annual meeting on November 4 in San Francisco.
