RSNA has reported that advance registration for professionals and guests for the 2011 edition of its annual meeting is up 7% compared to last year's conference.
Scheduled for November 27 to December 2 in Chicago, the RSNA meeting brings an estimated $120 million for the city's economy. For this year's meeting, the society has secured more than 120,000 room nights at 79 hotels in downtown Chicago.
For the 2010 meeting, RSNA reported final audited attendance of 36,197 in its "professionals and others" category, which includes RSNA members, nonmember physicians, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals. That was up 3% compared to an audited total of 35,110 professional and guest registrations in 2009. RSNA did not disclose an exact figure for advanced registration for the 2011 meeting.
There are 671 technical exhibits scheduled for the 2011 event, which will occupy 459,650 square feet of the McCormick Place convention center, the organization noted. Some 1,831 scientific papers, 2,124 educational exhibits, and 1,188 scientific posters are scheduled for presentation.
