CHICAGO - PET developer Positron has announced several enhancements to its mPower PET systems. The enhancements include the use of Ultra SPARC processors for view stations and post-processing applications, providing faster processing applications and viewing capabilities, according to the Houston-based firm. Positron also believes that the new processors will make it easier to develop and operate Positron’s oncology, neurology, and cardiology applications.
Positron has also redesigned the electronics of mPower, eliminating the electronics cabinets. The system does not require a water chiller, increasing reliability and decreasing the overall installation cost, according to John Ariatti, vice president of sales and marketing.
