Philips debuts interventional x-ray system

CHICAGO – Philips Medical Systems introduced today Integris Allura, a new interventional x-ray system designed for 3-D reconstructions. Allura can be customized for every combination of vascular, cardiovascular, neurovascular, and nonvascular interventional and diagnostic procedures, according to the Best, Netherlands-based firm.

Integris 3-D/rotational angiography images can be displayed in the control room on an integrated color monitor, providing the clinician with a reference image during the procedure, according to the company. Other imaging modalities such as ultrasound and CT can be combined in a single suite with Allura to support specific interventions, according to Philips. Allura has a compact, ceiling-mounted C-arm and includes a fully-digital CCD-based imaging chain to allow for better visualization of small vessels, stents, and coils, according to Philips.
