RSNA attendance rises 11%

Total attendance at this year’s RSNA meeting grew 11% compared to last year, according to officials with the Oak Brook, IL, society. The growth represents a welcome rebound from last year's meeting, when concerns over terrorism kept many potential attendees from traveling to Chicago.

According to the RSNA’s unaudited figures, total 2002 attendance stood at 59,200, compared with 53,569 in 2001. The 2002 numbers are 2% lower than 2000’s total attendance figure of 60,443.

Professional attendance for this year’s meeting was 24,471, up 14% compared with 21,406 professional attendees last year. The 2002 numbers are 1% lower than 2000’s professional attendance level of 24,600.
