EndoCare brings Cryocare to market

Cryoablation provider Endocare has garnered Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its Cryocare CS prostate cancer treatment system. The cryoablation unit, which includes an integrated biplane ultrasound system with color Doppler visualization, is expected to begin shipments in the fourth quarter, according to the Irvine, CA-based vendor.

Cryocare CS also includes Endocare’s AutoFreeze automated freezing system, which allows physicians access to computer-operated temperature-control technology. Along with a new onboard urethral warming system, AutoFreeze ensures effective freezing of the prostate, without compromising adjacent healthy tissues, Endocare said.
