Virtual colonoscopy developer Viatronix of Stony Brook, NY, has released a new version 1.3 of its V3D-Colon software. The latest version includes a new supine and prone registration feature that enables users to correlate scans taken with the patient in the supine and prone positions.
Viatronix believes the feature will enable faster verification of findings, as well as faster evaluation of segments that might be collapsed or hidden by residual stool and fluid in one of the two scans. Previously, a physician would have to search manually to verify on the second scan any abnormality found on the first scan.
