Siemens Medical Solutions said it has released the first clinical images from its Somatom Sensation 64 64-slice CT scanner. The images were acquired at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany.
The Malvern, PA-based vendor said that Sensation 64, which received Food and Drug Administration clearance in April, will be commercially available in the fall of 2004 following a testing phase at clinical institutions in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
