Philips Medical Systems debuted its Brilliance CT Big Bore Oncology configuration at this week's annual meeting of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) in Atlanta.
The new Brilliance CT configuration is designed for radiation oncology applications, and allows breast positioning, prostate treatment, respiratory gating studies, integrated absolute marking, and functional CT exams, according to the Andover, MA-based vendor. The CT localization (CT L.O.C.) application is included directly on the console, allowing clinicians to localize the tumor and mark the patient for therapy delivery without leaving the console, Philips said.
In other ASTRO introductions, Philips is also showcasing its Pinnacle 7.4 and AcQSim3 Phase II software, upgrades designed to improve accuracy and workflow for radiation oncology.
