Medtronic to acquire CathWorks for $585M

Medtronic plans to acquire Israeli imaging analysis software developer CathWorks in a deal valued at up to $585 million, with potential undisclosed earn-out payments after the purchase.

The intent to acquire CathWorks follows a 2022 partnership with a co-promotion agreement for CathWorks’ FFRangio System, software designed for measuring fractional flow reserve (FFR) from standard coronary angiograms, Medtronic said.

“Exercising [the] option to acquire will bolster Medtronic's interventional cardiology portfolio, expanding its leadership in transforming how cardiovascular disease is diagnosed and treated,” the company noted.

This deal is expected to be completed by the end of Medtronic's fiscal year 2026, subject to applicable regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, Medtronic said.
