PET firm CTI acquires ImTek

CTI Molecular Imaging has acquired ImTek, a Knoxville, TN, firm that makes micro CT systems. The acquisition price was $3.75 million, and the deal augments CTI's capabilities in the research and pharmaceutical markets, especially in the small-animal imaging field.

CTI, also based in Knoxville, is a radiopharmaceutical developer and PET vendor. The company sees the ImTek acquisition as a way to expand its own small-animal CT and PET customer base.
