AAPM offers report on CT radiation reduction

The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) has issued a CT radiation dose management report, which recommends standardized ways of reporting doses and educating users on the latest dose-reduction technology.

The report also details methods to measure, manage, and prescribe radiation dosages, and offers an overview of how doctors can optimize CT scanners using a minimal amount of radiation exposure to patients and still achieving maximum image quality.

The report was generated by a committee of medical physicists with expertise in CT technology and its clinical uses.
