Canon Medical Systems USA has launched a mobile CT system and associated disinfectant to help clinicians combat the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The new system includes the Aquilion Prime SP CT scanner in either a modular or mobile setup. The Prime SP can create up to 160 slices per rotation and hold patients up to 660 pounds, the company noted.

The tool uses automated UV-C light to reduce the presence of viruses, bacteria, and spores. It includes multiple UV light emitters that can decontaminate a room in minutes and works with new, mobile systems as well as existing imaging systems, according to the company.
