Densitometry technology developer Alara has moved into the CR market following recent FDA 510(k) clearance of its CrystalView desktop CR system.
CrystalView can also be adapted as a mobile unit, and is intended to serve either as a stand-alone system or as part of a network. Its storage phosphor-based technology automatically unloads, scans, erases, and re-loads the imaging plate.
CrystalView will be available early in the second quarter of 2004. The Hayward, CA-based firm said it would announce the system’s price at the RSNA meeting.
