Imaging Dynamics

Imaging Dynamics will launch Xplorer 1800 and its related Xplorer 1500 DR system at this year’s show.

The CCD-based Xplorer 1800 includes new Magellan II acquisition workstation software. IDC has added automated detector positioning by the technologist, allowing for selection of a procedure by remote control or by touch screen control panels on the tower. This eliminates steps for the technologist, and increases patient throughput, according to the Calgary, Alberta-based firm.

In addition, Magellan II includes functionality such as dose display, and selectable modes consisting of high-resolution or high-efficiency imaging. IDC will also show its latest version of image processing software, ICE (Image Character Enhancement) as well as an elevating, floating-top patient table.

Xplorer 1500 is an economically priced DR system designed for chest and head-to-toe upright exams, and, like the Xplorer 1800, is fully modular, IDC said. The key components, including the CCD and imaging scintillator, can be removed and upgraded. The cost of the Xplorer 1800 is under $200,000, while the Xplorer 1500 will list at less than $120,000. Both systems have FDA clearance.
