Direct digital developer Swissray is introducing ddRRealtime, a 15-image-per-second, high-resolution hardware retrofit to existing Swissray ddR systems.
The work-in-progress ddRRealtime will use CMOS technology with 12-bit digital output. Its target market niche will be joint-motion studies and fast skeletal trauma surveys in surgery and ERs. Swissray expects to have it on the market sometime in 2004.
Swissray will also introduce its IGS1000H mobile table with elevating top, and a four-way floating tabletop for use in all radiography applications. The FDA has cleared Swissray’s premarket approval (PMA) application for the system.
A collimator-mounted Dose Monitor ionization chamber measures and records radiation dose in the DICOM header of each image as it is delivered, ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards, Swissray said. The device is being sold in the U.S. and elsewhere.
The Elizabeth, NJ-based developer will also feature eXpert View, a collimator-mounted video camera that provides a system-eye view of the positioned patient. The video picture is integrated into the company’s eXpert-4000 control desk.
Also built into the eXpert-4000 control desk is eXpert Voice, an integrated intercom for voice communication between a positioned patient and the technologist at the control desk. The product is available worldwide. The prices of these systems will be released at the RSNA meeting.
