Dexela launches new DR detectors

Breast imaging developer Dexela of London has launched a new family of digital radiography (DR) detectors based on complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology.

Dexela said the new detectors offer large active areas and are available for applications including mammography and tomosynthesis, breast CT, dental conebeam CT, fluoroscopy, cardiology, and angiographic imaging and bone densitometry. They are also suited for some applications in scientific instrumentation and nondestructive testing.

The detectors feature high frame rates, low noise, high reliability, and an absence of image lag and high spatial resolution, according to the company. They consist of a photodiode array with a pixel size of 75 microns, with a frame rate of 26 frames per second at full resolution for the largest model in the family.

Dexela is also offering software drivers and companion software with the detectors, as well as its DexView software for mammography and other types of radiography applications. The company will be highlighting the products at the upcoming RSNA meeting in Chicago.
