The sluggish global economy took its toll on the financial performance of Canadian digital radiography firm Imaging Dynamics (IDC) in 2009 (end-December 31).
Revenues for the Calgary, Alberta-based company declined to $9.7 million ($9.5 million U.S.), down 43% from $16.9 million ($16.5 million U.S.) in 2008. IDC also posted a net loss of $6 million ($5.8 million U.S.) in 2009, compared with a net loss of $15.7 million ($15.4 million U.S.) in 2008.
In a written statement, IDC president and CEO Thomas Boon said the "continued protraction of the global diagnostic imaging industry and the market for digital radiography systems, in particular, has adversely impacted the company's performance throughout the past year and may continue to do so in the near term."
