Terumo expands partnership with Medis Medical Imaging

Terumo Health Outcomes is collaborating with medical imaging software developer Medis Medical Imaging to offer hospitals in the U.S. access to Medis QFR 3.0 image analysis software software for cath labs.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared software is designed to be used as a noninvasive tool for assessing angiography-derived physiology in patients with epicardial artery disease, according to the firm. In its announcement, Terumo highlighted Medis QFR's validation, extensive research, and 2024 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) recommendations that highlighted quantitative flow ratio (QFR) for the management of chronic coronary syndromes.

The collaboration builds on the companies’ previous partnership announcement, Terumo noted, adding that QFR 3.0 will be showcased during the upcoming Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) 2025 Scientific Sessions May 1-3 in Washington, DC.

Somerset, N.J.-based Terumo Health Outcomes is a division of Terumo Interventional Systems.
