HKSH performs C-11 whole-body PET/CT scans

Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital (HKSH) has performed whole-body PET/CT scans using short half-life C-11 radiopharmaceuticals, according to Siemens Medical Solutions. The HKSH researches are using Malvern, PA-based vendor's biograph lutetium oxyorthosilicate (LSO) PET/CT scanner for the studies. C-11 provide a more sensitive cancer tracer for diagnosing liver, renal, and prostate cancer, as well as low-grade lymphoma and brain tumors, Siemens said.
