Three-dimensional-software developer Vital Images and fusion software firm Mirada Solutions have signed an agreement to integrate Mirada’s PET image fusion application into Vital Images’ Vitrea 2 3-D software product.
Mirada’s technology can fuse images from the same or different imaging modalities, such as MR, PET, or CT from datasets acquired at different times, or from datasets generated on equipment from different manufacturers -- according to the Oxford, U.K. company, which was recently purchased by CTI Molecular Imaging of Knoxville, TN.
Vital Images plans to demonstrate the application this year’s RSNA conference, with commercial launch following in 2004, said the Plymouth, MN-based company.
