Medical Coaches puts Philips, Siemens on board

Mobile coach developer Medical Coaches of Oneonta, NY, has crafted mobile coaches for the Gemini 16-slice PET/CT system from Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA, and for the Avanto MRI scanner from Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA.

The frame constructed for the Gemini system is the same structure used in the company's TV trailers with 40-foot expandable sides, according to Medical Coaches. The assembly allows an operator to have a consistent deployment of the expandable sides, on all types of terrain, without deflection. The expandable walls are essential for operating the trailer due to the size of the scanner's 5,000-lb gantry, the company said.

Medical Coaches said it will have both the Philips and Siemens mobile units on display at the RSNA conference in Chicago later this month.
