Carestream Molecular Imaging, a division of Rochester, NY-based Carestream Health, has launched a new digital system for fluorescent multispectral optical molecular imaging.
The Kodak In-Vivo Multispectral Imaging System FX is now available worldwide, Carestream said. It is designed to locate and monitor changes in molecular activity of specific cells or organs, assisting in the development of effective therapeutics for disease treatment.
Its multispectral tuning of excitation light enhances image sensitivity, allowing for the identification and separation of multiple optical biological marker signals in subjects while removing background noise. Software native to the system generates and analyzes a series of images taken at different wavelengths with spatially co-registered x-ray and white light images for improved localization of biomarkers in vivo, according to Carestream.
