Philips wins long-term Chinese research contract

Royal Philips Electronics, the parent company of Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has entered into a long-term research collaboration with West China Hospital in Chengdu, China, the company said.

Under the seven-year agreement, Philips and West China Hospital will develop imaging procedures for diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular disease. The collaboration will include eight new research projects involving MRI, CT, PET, and SPECT.

West China Hospital is affiliated with Sichuan University in Chengdu. The facility has 5,000 beds and 2 million outpatients, according to Philips.
