Positron launches NeuSight PET/CT 3D scanner

Positron is launching its NeuSight PET/CT 3D 64-slice scanner in the U.S. and North American markets.

Suitable for both cardiology and oncology imaging, NeuSight PET/CT scanner offers anatomic and functional imaging for heart, tumor, and brain imaging studies, according to Positron.

NeuSight PET/CT’s detector modules are designed to interface with scintillating crystals for improved photoelectric conversion efficiency, high sensitivity, and temporal resolution, according to the vendor. The scanner also incorporates clear honeycomb and patented asymmetrical light-guided technology to enhance image clarity and resolution, the company said. Furthermore, NeuSight PET/CT features clinical applications ranging from the firm's 4D Gate capabilities for attenuation correction and fusion to image fusion algorithms and quality control procedures.

Positron also highlighted the system's small footprint, its 72-cm gantry for patient comfort, and its acquisition technology for minimizing radiation exposure.

NeuSight PET/CT scanner is manufactured by Neusoft Medical Systems, with Positron having exclusive rights to sell and distribute the scanner in the North American market. This is made possible through a business cooperation agreement with Neusoft's subsidiary, Shenyang Intelligent Nuclear Medical Technology.
