Canadian radiopharmaceutical developer Draxis Health of Montreal has issued an estimate of its fourth quarter (end-December 31) and year-end 2007 earnings.
The company predicted a net loss of 1¢ per share for the quarter. Net earnings per share for the 2007 fiscal year will be 4¢ per share.
Draxis attributed the lower results in part to the impact of the slowdown of the nuclear medicine industry in December due to a shortage of medical isotopes, as well as one-time severance expenses related to reducing corporate overhead, including closing the firm's offices in Mississauga early in 2008.
