The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) announced Wednesday that its 2003 meeting will be held in Toronto from July 10-16. Last week, the Berkeley, CA-based society postponed the meeting, originally scheduled for May 10-16, due to the apparent SARS crisis in the Canadian city and surrounding areas.
The meeting will start with a two-day educational program on July 10 and 11, with the scientific program getting underway on July 12. All sessions will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, according to a letter from ISMRM president Richard Ehman.
The conference cancellation came after the World Health Organization imposed a travel advisory to Toronto, which was lifted on Wednesday. Toronto, one of the first cities to successfully contain the spread of the virus, is currently hosting a global SARS conference.
Ehman urged ISMRM attendees to continue checking the society’s Web site for further information on rebooking or obtaining refunds of registration fees and hotel deposits, as well as reconfirming participation.
