MRI components provider Intermagnetics General has reached an agreement with Philips Medical Systems to extend and expand the firms' exclusive magnet supply agreement. Under the terms of the new deal, Intermagnetics will be the sole supplier of superconducting-based actively shielded magnets for all of Philips’ commercial MRI systems. The new agreement could result in an additional $20 million annually in magnet sales for Intermagnetics, according to the Latham, NY-based company.
