German pharmaceutical firm Schering has received European Union marketing approval for its Primovist MR liver imaging agent.
Swedish marketing approval for Primovist was granted this year and the product was successfully launched there this month, the Berlin-based firm said. Based on the Swedish approval, European marketing authorization was granted after completion of a mutual recognition procedure with Sweden as a reference member state in 25 European countries, with the exception of France and Denmark, Schering said.
The product is scheduled to be introduced to European markets, starting with Germany, in the first quarter of 2005.
