This Minneapolis developer of MRI coils and accessories will introduce a new transmit-and-receive head coil for 3-tesla scanners, as well as a parallel transceiver device for ultrahigh-field magnets.
MR Instruments will also introduce a parallel transceiver designed for scanners at field strengths of 3 tesla and higher. The transceiver reduces the time of the delivered radiofrequency (RF) signal, and is useful for transmit SENSE parallel-imaging applications in head and neck imaging, the company said.
The transceiver allows superior RF field uniformity at higher field strengths, reduces RF power requirements, and allows more anatomical coverage in less time. MR Instruments will show the transceiver as a work-in-progress, with product availability in the U.S. and internationally expected in 2007.
