Continuum allows users to control a patient's medication infusion during MRI procedures from both inside and outside the scan room. If changes to the flow rate, bolus, or beginning and end of the infusion need to be made, users can make them with a wireless remote display without interrupting the scan.
Medrad plans to market Continuum for cardiac and pediatric MR imaging, as well as for imaging patients who need infusion during an MR or OR procedure. It currently is available in the U.S., with worldwide distribution planned for September 2009.
