Uecker hired as RITA CTO

Radiation therapy and RF ablation developer RITA Medical Systems of Mountain View, CA, has hired Darrin Uecker as its chief technology officer (CTO).

Before joining RITA, Uecker was a vice president at Sunnyvale, CA-based Intuitive Surgical. In his new position he will report directly to president and CEO Joseph DeVivo, and will be responsible for the firm’s research and development, manufacturing, clinical affairs, quality, and regulatory activities, the company said.
