Multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, is showcasing updates to its lithotripsy product line at the annual meeting of the American Lithotripsy Society in San Diego.
The firm is debuting products that expand the clinical workflow of its urological platform, Lithostar Modularis. The Lithostar Modularis Vario, a new product offering, allows the lithotripsy module to be paired with a choice of Siemens C-arm technologies such as the Siremobil Iso-C, Iso-C (3D), Compact, or Compact L, the company said.
Additionally, a new shock-wave system, the Cplus, is designed to provide greater efficacy in stone breakage, increased penetration depth of 140 mm, a variable shock-wave frequency (60/90/120), and a longer life of the shock head. The shock-wave Cplus system allows for a decrease of shock-wave energy and fewer shocks applied for safer, more effective treatments, according to Siemens.
The Modularis urological platform is now delivered with the new Cplus shock-wave system as standard equipment and is available as an upgrade for existing Modularis customers.
