Radiation treatment-planning software developer Prowess of Chico, CA, has inked a deal with the Georgia Institute of Technology of Atlanta for the development of inverse brachytherapy planning technology.
The planning system, Prowess Panther Inverse Brachy, is being developed in collaboration with researchers at Georgia Tech as well as medical physicists at Emory University in Atlanta. Prowess said the product reduces the radiation dose to healthy tissues while delivering the prescribed dose to tumors.
