RTS shareholders approve merger

Oncology treatment center operator Radiation Therapy Services (RTS) of Fort Myers, FL, said its shareholders approved a merger plan between RTS, Radiation Therapy Services Holdings, and RTS MergerCo. The deal is expected to be finalized later this month, subject to closing conditions.

RTS, which operates centers in 16 states, is owned by an affiliate of Vestar Capital Partners. Two class-action lawsuits filed in fall 2007 in connection with the proposed merger have since been resolved.
