Radiation therapy firm TomoTherapy has earned a contract to install its radiation therapy system at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, according to the company.
TomoTherapy's Hi-Art treatment system treats various cancers with a combination of CT imaging and conformal radiation therapy. Construction of the suite will begin in the fall of 2008; treatments will start in late 2009 or early 2010, according to the Madison, WI-based company.
The UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine participated in the first TomoTherapy clinical trials, which included the treatment of dogs with nasal tumors.
