Accuray wins CyberKnife approval in Japan

Radiotherapy firm Accuray of Sunnyvale, CA, has received approval of its robotic radiosurgery system in Japan, the company reported.

Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare has approved Accuray's CyberKnife system for use in treating extracranial tumors; as a result of this approval, the system may be used in Japan to treat tumors anywhere in the body, including the spine, lung, liver, pancreas, and prostate, according to Accuray.
