Radiation therapy developer RefleXion Medical has signed a deal with HealthMyne to combine technologies to apply oncology radiomics to radiation therapy treatments.
The companies will partner to use HealthMyne's radiomics and image analysis algorithms to analyze CT and PET data acquired with RefleXion's biology-guided radiotherapy (BGRT) systems. The hope is that radiomics insights can be used to customize radiation therapy for patients based on characteristics of their tumors and response to radiotherapy.
The companies believe that such customized treatments will be more effective than radiation therapy based on standard protocols.
