Multimodality vendor GE Medical Systems has unveiled a voice navigation system, VoiceScan, for its Logiq 9 ultrasound scanner. By talking into a wireless headset, physicians and sonographers can interact with the scanner and prompt it to perform more than 150 actions, according to the Waukesha, WI-based firm.
The company said the system frees up both hands for scanning, which it says is an ergonomic benefit when performing studies such as venous augmentation, when scanning large or difficult patients, and for portable exams.
