Siemens lands ultrasound deal in China

Multimodality manufacturer Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, has signed an agreement with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the People’s Republic of China to purchase 11 of the company's Acuson Sequoia 512 ultrasound systems.

The agreement, which was signed by the PLA, Siemens, and healthcare distributor Chindex of Bethesda, MD, covers the exclusive supply of scanners for the Chinese military hospital system throughout the 2003/2004 fiscal year.
