Rachel Brem, MD, of George Washington University in Washington, DC, will be featured on the Breakthrough Women in Science & Medicine series in an episode on breast cancer screening.
The episode will highlight Brem's work on promoting early breast cancer screening through education, access, and advocacy, and will be available to public TV stations nationwide beginning October 5.
It will also feature breast cancer experts who will explain the recent breast density reporting mandate by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force's breast cancer screening recommendations, as well as discussion on supplemental and diagnostic imaging modalities such as breast MRI, ultrasound, contrast-enhanced mammography, and molecular breast imaging.
