Image-processing firm Confirma and the Robert M. Berk Magnetic Resonance Institute at the University of California, San Diego have signed an agreement to conduct research using Confirma’s CADstream system for breast MR image processing and analysis.
Researchers plan on evaluating the product for breast MR image processing and its impact on breast MRI interpretation. The first study will focus on measuring the effect of the system’s processing on reader sensitivity and specificity -- two important criteria in measuring the efficacy of MRI, according to the Kirkland, WA-based company.
