Laser breast imaging developer Imaging Diagnostic Systems (IDSI) has received its twelfth U.S. patent (No. 6,571,116) for its CT laser mammography system. The latest patent is for a device that discloses simultaneous acquisition of several wavelengths of light during an optical computed tomography scan. The practical use for this technology will be to simultaneously acquire an absorption image and a fluorescence image, according to the Fort Lauderdale, FL-based firm.
